Noblesville Indiana January 21 1915 final naturalization of Christian Holst who renounced allegiance to King Christian IX of Denmark and pledged to support the United States Constitution. Proceedings began in New York years ago and the immigrant is son in law of Dr M C Haworth.
Early Sunday fire partially destroyed Clyde Robbins residence on Opal street in Malott's addition near the Sorghum factory. The blaze started from a bad flue and, despite strong winds, limited furniture loss as most items were moved to safety. policy covers 800 on the house and 200 on contents.
Clinton county declines to appropriate 500 dollars for the arrest and conviction of a farmer Walter Thomas killer found near Middlefork. The council also refuses 200 dollars to defend McCoy who killed his wife and her paramour Byerly.
The Orin Jessup Land Company sold two farms through R. C. Fo land as auctioneer. A 60 acre farm northwest of Boxley went to Walter Stephenson for 10380 dollars and a 10 acre farm near Deming went to Orla Butcher of Kempton for 2201 dollars.
S R Paddock suffered a crushed thumb when an interurban car door closed on his hand leaving him with a badly bruised thumb. A Frankfort physician treated the injury.
Michael and Harley Orr sold the forty acre farm in a land deal. Local records note the transaction details and the parties involved. The listing highlights the property size and the completion of the sale.
Mr and Mrs J C Ringer attend the funeral of their brother in law John Roe near Indianapolis. Roe was shot December 22 by a negro who asked for money to ride to the city. The assailant was arrested and held without bail as Roe’s condition remains critical.
The Hamilton County Times is sold by Postmaster Carpenter to N. K. Harris and Paul Pointer of Sullivan Indiana. Harris arrived Saturday and will take possession Monday. The new organization will be incorporated as the Noblesville Times Publishing Company.
The last annual report shows trustee G W Scott handed funds totaling 115 766 91 over six years not counting funds from predecessor. Two school houses were built at 4 700, one mile of township road graveling, half mile graded and gravelled. Pettijohn accounts total 3 605 13 with indebtedness 2 700. Scott thanks taxpayers for courtesies and success.
A two day Adams Township Farmers Institute opened at the high school gym with talks on clover crop management by Oliver Cline of Huntington and farm management led by E J Mendenhall. Mrs Flora Meeks of Parker spoke on women’s role on the farm and home making. Friday includes hog cholera lecture by Mr Hawkins of Indianapolis and a talk by Albert Kinzer of Carmel along with a student musical program. All sessions are free and open to the public.
Maria Dell files suit in Boone circuit court against Glenn Hancock seeking return of property including a milk cow named Okie a black leather top couch and a stand table valued at 100 plus 100 in damages. Dell alleges Hancock possesses the items and seeks replevin.
The Sheridan Poultry Association hosts its 9th annual show with Barred Rocks Buff Orpingtons and new entries like Speckled Sussex and Silver Campines. Awards list top birds by breed including cocks hens pens and pullets with judges names and exhibitor names.
The stock disease continues to rage with new cases in Indiana and a grave risk of Illinois facing interstate shipment quarantine. Government inspectors monitor the outbreak and say drastic measures will be taken when needed.
Arthur Walwyn Evans, a Welsh humorist and relative of David Lloyd-George, will present the third lecture in the Lyceum course at the Christian church next Tuesday night. Evans, thirty, studied at a Scotch university and will deliver three talks.
More than 500 Monon railroad workers at Lafayette are laid off until Feb 15 due to dull business. Only those in the round house stay. Two workers are cut from the Sheridan force.
