Receiver Sought for Sheridan and Brazil Brick Works

Marion Trust Company filed in county court for a receiver to close Mason J Osgoods estate affairs tied to the Sheridan and Brazil brick works. Osgood held twenty notes totaling about 45000 as president of the company, unpaid. two plants worth about 80000, Sheridan plant unused recently but regarded as one of the best in the state. Mrs S A Boxley suffered a slight relapse this week and remains confined.

Miss Statia Whitty Dies in Chicago Hospital

Miss Statia Whitty a well known Sheridan nurse died Saturday evening at a Chicago hospital after typhoid fever and pneumonia. Dr H E K Davenport learned of her illness and rushed to Chicago arriving as she failed. The body was sent to Indianapolis for funeral services with Dr Davenport and his family in attendance.

Mrs Laura Beam Dies at 28 in Sheridan Typhoid Fever

Mrs Laura Beam wife of Wilson Beam died at home in Sheridan on Tuesday evening from typhoid fever. She was 28 and left a husband and four young children. Funeral services were held at the Friends church yesterday at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev Jesse Mills with interment at Spicewood.

Burglary at Young & Steffey Hardware Store

Monday morning the Young and Steffey hardware store was entered through a roof window sash by burglars who disturbed only about fifty pennies from the money drawer. Earlier in warm weather a similar break in occurred through the same window with a revolver stolen. prints on a wall and footprints suggested local youths, though no arrests were made. The owners believe the same individuals committed both burglaries.
