Four were removed after his announcement. He says these gambling schemes prey on young men and violate Indiana law. Young Man Near Scircleville Hangs Self
Hillis Groves aged 23 son of Mr and Mrs James Groves living two miles north of Scircleville committed death by own action early Monday morning by hanging himself in a buggy shed. He had been to be married soon to a neighboring farmer’s daughter and was found by his mother hanging from a rafter in a shed behind their home. No lovers quarrel or known cause is given.

Murdered farmer found dead in barn near Frankfort
Walter Thomas, 34, a farmer living northeast of Frankfort, was found dead in his barn Saturday morning. He had been assaulted and his skull crushed by a hidden assailant when he returned from Frankfort late Thursday night. His wife and daughter were away in Indianapolis, and no clue to the murderer exists.

California Congress Tariff Expert Duncan McKinley Dies at 56
Duncan E. McKinley of California, who spoke here during the last campaign, died at his home on December 30 from a stroke. He was 56 and had a national reputation as a member of Congress and an authority on tariff matters. His admirers nationwide regret his early death.
