Noblesville Ind Jan 4 1913 visitors to the court house were greeted with apples and cigars as three new officials took office. L J Patty retired as County Clerk and was replaced by Will F Wall. Ruth Mosbaugh becomes stenographer. Reuben Mann remains deputy. John Bert of Cicero succeeds John Bauchert as County Treasurer with deputies Horace Pettijoun and C C White. J H Harvey of Washington township becomes a Hamilton County Commissioner, Ed Clark elected president. Terms vary: Bert two years, Wall four, Harvey three. Grand and petit juries chosen for January term. The October term adjourned. next term begins Monday with miscellaneous business and the Harry Hiatt murder case on the docket. Thomas Williams sent to Michigan City Penitentiary for grand larceny. Albert L Gordon made defendant in suit over a lost note. Peter O Duncan sues Tipton county board for engineer services on ditches.

The county case moves to a Change of venue with the January term opening January 8. Judge Vestal adjourned the current session after brief business. Thomas Payne, held on arson charges for a stack of straw on his employer’s farm, released on $200 bond. Elbert Middleton has filed for divorce in Boise City, Idaho from Nancy Middleton. Commissioners Court opens its January session with Starvey as member, Clark elected president, and Judge Neal appointed County Attorney. Road viewers named for Stahl road. Webb gravel road remanded for 20 days. Judge Vestal grants Helen Wilson a divorce from Robert Wilson with $1000 alimony. Wilson cited as habitual drinker. More on page 8.

New Town Officers Take Charge In Quiet New Year Start
Monday a holiday led the town board to postpone until Tuesday the first meeting of the year. Walter Bradfield becomes town trustee succeeding John McCarty, Chas Fouch sworn as marshal, and the board approves the northeast sewer assessment roll with objections hearing set for January 15. Bonds and Osborn named town attorney, health officer omitted temporarily, and several bills approved totaling about 209.78 for lights and salaries with other small charges.

George Myers Stricken With Apoplexy In Anderson
George Myers of Anderson collapsed Monday afternoon with apoplexy and was not expected to recover. His wife Clara Myers and family, who had visited relatives here, were notified and left for home. Plenty of changes to save money
Sheridan banks launch savings departments with 4 percent interest compounded semi annually. The First National and Farmers National Bank opened small saving accounts the first week of January. George Ogle and Voy M Collins were the first depositors at the Farmers and First banks respectively as the government plans a Postal Savings bank opening next Thursday.

Corn glut floods markets as roads aid prices rise
An enormous volume of corn is being marketed as good roads and high prices boost supply. Sheridan pays 77 cents per hundredweight or 54 cents per bushel with expectations of further gains. Predictions vary from 75 cents to a dollar per bushel for the 1911 crop. more grain may be offered if roads stay favorable. Those with filled cribs expect fair profits. Squire Steffey relocates his office to the Todd temple. QO. B. Mace sells the Main and Third streets meat market to Stout and Copeland, who take over on Thursday.
