New County Officers Take Oath As New Year Begins
Noblesville Indiana reports a slate of new county officers starting New Year’s Day. Ed Clark replaces Hussey on the Board of Commissioners while Frank Randall takes over as Sheriff. Hugh Johnson succeeds H. L. Findley as county surveyor and Emil Decker becomes county assessor. Ed Mosbaugh assumes the recorder post with Madge Barnes as deputy. Prosecutor C. M. Gentry succeeds Hines. Judge Christian purchases an eighty acre farm for 110 dollars an acre near the city. possession is set for March. A civil case over the drowning of Lora Echo Whitson seeks 10000 damages from Indiana Union Traction.

Lights promised for Sheridan visitors next week
The Sheridan power house plans a new producer machinery installation to be ready for inspection by Sunday if no unforeseen interruptions occur. Delays in sand and materials pushed work beyond initial estimates, with testing to follow after installation. The project began last spring after a Septem ber election and a dispute with Fairbanks Morse over payments and guarantees. Total cost is about $5,500.

Less Money to Run Town Shrinks Sheridan Funding
Auditor Cowgill reports December distributions to Adams township Sheridan School and Sheridan corporation. Sheridan corporation receives 1785.90, total Sheridan year allocation 3639.69, down 2103.51 from prior collection due to tax levy cut and new county seat tax collection method. Local towns oppose the change saying it delays funds and causes interest on borrowed money while County Treasurer holds the money.

J. J. Wells Dies After Long Illness
J J Wells an aged Sheridan resident died Tuesday night from complications of diseases incident to old age. The private funeral was held at his home Thursday morning and burial followed at Crown View cemetery. He lived here previously before moving to Indianapolis in the 1890s and later to a farm three miles south of town. Survived by a wife a son and a daughter Mrs Nellie Chew.
