Wliza Bond aged 73 wife of Rub onnia Bond died Sunday evening at home in Boxley after a second stroke. She had earlier suffered paralysis and was nearing recovery. Funeral services were held at the Friends church in Spicewood Tuesday conducted by Rev. Jesse Mills.
The Shakespeare Club meets next Monday at the Thistlethwaite Hotel hosted by Mr T L Tarris. The program features a debate on Henry VIII as a benefit to England, a Shakespeare recitation by Mrs Elliott, and a duet by Miss Newton and Miss Scott.

Henry Timmons Sr. returned from Warren County after visiting a ill sister. The sister remains alive but not much improved. Rumors said C B Kneale sold his grocery to Sam Heath, but the sale is off. A group of young ladies organized an Embroidery Club at Miss Lena Ridgeway’s home last Friday afternoon and will meet again next Friday.
The Farmers Institute heads to Sheridan for March 14 and 15 at the Friends church. A full program appears next week. Speakers include J. N. Babcock of LaGrange County and D. P. D. Johnson of Mooresville, both state reputations.
The Republican county Central Committee met at the call of the Chairman Monday and approved a resolution authorizing the County Chairman to issue credentials to Congressional Delegates appointed by the committee, one man from each township, a nine member panel to meet on March 11 to select delegates. The action complies with the party convention decisions.
The committee soliciting funds to drill a new gas well in town continues active appeals. They are not shy about $300 and report good prospects. A gas flow within corporate limits would bring riches to the town and all citizens are urged to subscribe promptly.
A Sheridan discussion on building an electric road through town will be on the Pawn Board agenda at the County Chamber meeting Monday night. Citizens are urged to attend and support a local electric line to ensure the town benefits from any future route.
A lively Republican primary in Noblesville Tuesday produced a large vote and nomination of a city ticket led by Mayor George M. Snyder with James F. Stephenson as marshal, A. A. Glenn as clerk, and A. M. Fisher as treasurer among others.
J T Wiles has gone to Amboy Indiana where with his brother he will engage in banking business. He has banking experience and understands the business. The family will move once a house is secured. Mrs Wiles is staying with her parents J W Lindley and wife.
Elmer Myers and his family moved to the city early in the week as he continues in the wholesale shoe business. Their Indianapolis residence is on Ashland Avenue. Mr Scott, the new grocer, is moving into the Myers home on 4th Street in Sheridan.
A full house greeted the Home Company at the Opera House Tuesday night and praised the acting. The group plans another play soon. Solomon Bond of Boxley, whose wife died Sunday, remains in critical condition from rheumatism and heart trouble, with survival uncertain as of the last reports.
The Postmaster General rules rural mail carriers will receive a yearly wage increase of 100 to bring salaries to 600 per annum. The raise is described as sufficient to cover costs for a man, horse, and wagon.
W. K. Hopkins, whose wife died at their Lebanon home last week, arrived in Sheridan Monday and will stay indefinitely with his brother J. A. M. Hopkins.

A single group ticket will be issued. late arrivals cannot be counted. Sheridan lodge invited to confer rank work and lead the team. Work in 2nd and 3rd degrees. All Knights invited for a grand outing.
About twenty members of the M. E. Church gave a donation party Tuesday evening to Rev. R. M. S. Hutchens and his wife. The event celebrated their work in the community and showed appreciation from friends in this place.
Jeff Erp of Deming will move to Sheridan at the start of the week and use his Deming farm as headquarters while he travels for the Acme Remedy Co. The arrangement positions Erp to support company operations across the region.
Miss Bess Antrim celebrated her birthday with about fifty friends Thursday at the Antrim home on Ohio street. Refreshments were served and the gathering enjoyed a pleasant evening. Miss Bess was the host and presiding figure for the celebration.
