On Washington's Birthday the French government via the American Legion awarded five diplomas to relatives of deceased World War soldiers and sailors: Frank Kiste C. E. Elliott Mrs. Gladys Buckner Benton Kimble and Newton King. A ceremony preceded the presentation with Ernest E. Cloe of Noblesville giving the keynote address. Sheridan man arrested in fatal car crash manslaughter charge
Murrell G. Robbins of Sheridan who worked at a garage in Indianapolis was arrested after a Friday auto accident that killed an eight year old girl. He initially faced assault and battery and driving without a license before the manslaughter charge was filed. The girl was returning home from school with two sisters.

Death of Mrs. L. P. Owens at Tipton ends long illness
Mrs. L. P. Owens, 65, died Monday morning at 8:30 in Tipton after weeks of suffering from a diseased condition. Born Sept 1, 1854 near Sheridan, she lived in Tipton and Sheridan during her life and was active in the Friends church. Survived by husband Lindsay Owens, daughter Mrs. Charles Venable, and three sisters and a brother.

Civil War Soldier John Hall Dies After Brief Illness
John Hall of Sherman street died early Tuesday from double pneumonia at age 75. The Civil War veteran, long-time Sherman resident, is survived by his wife three sons Amos Valetus and Ora and a daughter Mrs Levi Mikels. Funeral held Thursday at the residence.
