J C Milligan Dies After Brief Illness At 81
Jacob Milligan died at his home after a two week illness at age 81. A member of the 62nd Ohio Vol Infantry, he survived by his wife and three daughters Mrs G C MacMath, Mrs Samuel Freeman, and Mrs Will Akard. Funeral services were Tuesday at the Friends Church with interment in Spencer cemetery led by Rev. Frank Stafford.

Frank McConnell Wins Lieutenancy at Fort Hancock
Frank McConnell left Monday for Fort Hancock off Sandy Hook to serve as a lieutenant in the regular army. He passed the Army exam at Camp Knox last June among twenty six applicants and will train in engineering at Fortress Monroe Virginia next fall. He previously headed agriculture at Camp Knox and resigned after reductions. He is a Sheridan high school and Purdue graduate. Mrs. McConnell will join him at the fort in about one month.
