Questionnaires Reach Hamilton County
Noblesville Indiana December 6 1917 Five hundred pounds of mail reached the County Conscription Board Wednesday. The mail consisted entirely of copies of the questionnaire for draft age men. All young men in Hamilton County not in service will get one on December 16. They must answer 667 questions within seven days. The Conscription Board and clerks prepare the mail for mailing and Judge Cloe will call a meeting of attorneys to assist. About one hundred boys per day will be asked to come in for interviews as fourteen hundred questionnaires are to be processed.

All Star Cast Stages Farce Refuting Women’s Wedding Role
Monday night at the K P hall an all star manless wedding raised 102 for farmers and mocked the notion women are unnecessary to weddings. The elaborate cast included J G Antrimas as Schuman Heink and a parade of actors playing brides, grooms, bridesmaids, and guests in a Sheridan style spoof.

Battery D Two Indiana Field Artillery Drill Friday Afternoon
Seventy five members of Battery D Second Indiana Field Artillery from Hamilton County will drill on Main Street Friday at 3 PM. They were mustered into state service at Noblesville by Col. Gavin L. Payne. Lieut. James Almond commands the unit with new recruits sought. musicians for the regimental band ages 18 to 40 are also needed. Noblesville’s Raymond Caca chosen as band master. twelve local boys from the township listed among the battery members.

Former Sheridan Resident J. W. Shelby Dies in Martinsville
J. W. Shelby aged 61 died in a Martinsville sanitarium Monday morning after a brief illness of acute indigestion. A former Sheridan resident, he moved to Lebanon then Columbus to work in milling and later spreader manufacturing. He is survived by a wife, two sons and a daughter. funeral held Wednesday.

Thrift Stamps On Sale Here At Sheridan Post Office
War stamps of five dollars and thrift certificates for twenty five cents are now available at the Sheridan post office. Stamps cost twenty five cents each with four dollars payable to exchange for a five dollar stamp at twelve cents added in December and January. The first purchaser was F. J. Beard. Postmasters and mail officials offer information.
