Fourteen Year Old Boy Killed By Train
Clarence Lane fourteen son of Nelson Lane of Atlanta was instantly killed when run over by a Lake Erie train at a crossing. He was riding a bicycle and likely did not notice the train until too late. His body was mangled. He was a grandson of E. A. Lane of Sheridan.

Judging Contest Slated for Dairy Picnic at Compton’s Park
A pre judging dairy cattle contest for youths aged 15 to 21 will be held at the Dairy Picnic on August 21 at Compton’s Park. Prof Reed of the Kansas Experiment Station and county agents from Boone and Hamilton counties will attend. The Sheridan Dairy Association offers 10 dollars in prizes for top judging. Ernest Hodven sold his 44 acre farm one mile north of Bakers Corner to J. W. Gray for 260 dollars with possession by March first.
