R. T. Kercheval Died in Kansas at 75
Relatives in Sheridan report the death of Reuben T. Kercheval Thursday evening at the Soldiers Home in Leavenworth Kansas after a long illness. He was 75, had lived in Kansas forty years, and is survived by three daughters Mrs Wallingford Mrs Murphy and Mrs Ashby two sons Frank and Harry a sister Mrs Malott and brothers John E and Robert Kercheval. Last visit to Sheridan was five years ago.

Mrs Nancy A Shannon 61 wife of Charles Shannon died Saturday from tuberculosis after long illness she had been bedfast since November. She leaves a husband and children Roy Sheridan Merl Shannon Mrs Ben Hicks and Mrs Ed Mills all with some residing in Elwood. Funeral held Monday at Friends church led by Rev. Stafford with Cicero burial. Also notes Sadie Haughey and son Hal moved household effects to Frankfort where Hal operates a Willard battery station.

Former Sheridan resident James W. McClain buried at Crown View
The remains of James W. McClain died suddenly at Jeffersonville of apoplexy were brought to Sheridan and buried Sunday at Crown View cemetery. He was a telegraph operator at the Monon station, married in 1888 to Hannah Thistlethwaite, and survived by a wife and three daughters. The Masonic lodge handled the burial. The funeral sermon was at the Christian church at 5 PM.

A soy bean growing demonstration will be held at the W. L. Sturdevant farm southeast of Sheridan on the Noblesville road Friday, August 19 at 1 30 P M. Purdue University leads the meeting with County Agent H B Randolph co operating. This is part of a state wide series of such meetings across fourteen counties where soy beans are grown successfully.

Financial worries trigger death by self harm of farmer Henry Shull
Henry Shull a 33 year old farmer residing three miles southeast of Sheridan died Saturday morning from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the temple. He reportedly faced debts from a truck mortgage which he did not reveal publicly. Coroner Coultrin investigated the death and a letter found Friday may illuminate motives. He left a widow two daughters and a son with funeral services held Tuesday at the family home and burial at Crown View cemetery.
