L. E. Heaps and wife returned to their Sheridan home after a cross country motor trip from Los Angeles. They traveled through Arizona New Mexico Colorado and Kansas to St. Louis then back, encountering deserts mountains blizzards and mud in southern Illinois. Heaps notes the trip took longer than expected and misdirections cost time but would repeat the journey in two weeks if possible.
