Michael Blessing’s two story home in northwest town is total loss from a Saturday fire. The blaze began in the roof near the chimney after a kitchen stove preps for dinner. Firefighters lost control as west winds fed the flames, first floor furnishings saved, upper rooms gutted, insured none, Blessing an old soldier who moved here five years ago from Kempton.
Bert Jessup of Horton on the H. L. Covode farm northwest of Westfield barely survived a bull attack last Friday. He was knocked down and gored. Al Moon drove the beast away with a pitchfork. Dr. Baldwin treated him, and he returned home to recover with plans to resume work later in the week.
The last number of the League Endeavor course was given at the I O R M hall Wednesday evening to a large audience. It was rendered by home talent and was the crown ing number of the course. The program as announced last week was carried out and each performance heartily anchored.

A. R. Nichols of Marion township pleaded guilty to forging several checks drawn on his father J. T. Nichols and J. R. My rs. Judge Artman sentenced him to 2 to 14 years in the Indiana reformatory with a $10 fine and costs, but suspended judgment on good behavior. Theodore P. Davis chairman of Indiana Democrats and prominent attorney is seriously ill at his home 1503 Park Avenue. Doctors say death could come at any time after more than four weeks with Brights disease. Davis has long been active in politics and law since 1897 moving from Noblesville, a former judge of the Appellate Court, and a prominent Mason, Odd Fellow and Knight of Pythias member with many local relatives.
John A. Cline a well known farmer from the north part of the township has been missing since Saturday morning. He appeared in Sheridan on Saturday drawing 450 from the First National Bank to pay taxes and visit Prosecutor Gentry. He later drew a draft for about 300 payable to a Chicago bank and mentioned Solorado as a target. Neighbors and family search Noblesville without results. A theory points to possible mental unbalance after a head injury from a prior assault.
H E Stephenson died at his home on West 2nd Street Tuesday after a long lung illness. Funeral services and interment were held at Bethel Cemetery. He was about 60 years old and leaves a family.
