Ninth District Convention Held at Crawfordsville
The Ninth Congressional District Convention met in Crawfordsville on Wednesday with Judge Neal named chairman. Delegates elected were W F Craig Hamilton County and Captain J A Allen Fountain County to the National Convention in Philadelphia. Alternates chosen were W T Marker Tipton and Geo G Dinwiddie Clinton County. Captain R W Harrison Lebanon was nominated as a presidential elector. Resolutions endorsing the administration passed. W T Craig edits the Ledger and the selection marks the district’s first recognition for Tipton County. The gathering was harmonious throughout.

The 7th annual session of the North Indiana MME Conference closed at Elkhart with the Kokomo District appointing ministers for the coming year. Names include M.S. Gifford and Miss Richardson Wed After Mixup
John Gifford a popular druggist and Miss Richardson daughter of Mr and Mrs J M Richardson were married at a Christian minister's residence in Atlanta on Sunday evening. A misunderstanding caused the minister to travel to Sheridan while the couple were in Atlanta. The minister learned of the wedding and returned, leading to a quiet union celebrated in Atlanta. The bride formerly taught in city schools and both families are praised in the notice.

An Old Pioneer Gone
Adam Wiles aged 94 died at his Jackson township home on Thursday April funeral held by Rev McKenzie at Phillips church on the deceased’s farm. He came to Indiana early and settled on the land that remained his home. He retained the government sheepskin patent for his farm.

Serious bio tank break at Noblesville glass works
Monday afternoon the bio tank at the Noblesville glass works broke at the bottom and released melted loss causing a fire. No operators were injured but damage runs to several thousand dollars and forces the plant to close for several weeks.
