Noblesville Board favors assistant for Superintendent office
Noblesville Indiana April 7 1921 the County Board of Education met in the courthouse with most trustees present. They endorsed creating an assistant for the Superintendent's office and seek 600 to pay the office girl's salary under a new law. They discussed a county high school oriented institute plan and noted many schools closing for summer. A suit was filed over a $325 check and bids were invited for Walter Mosbaugh road construction. The board also reviewed Poor Farm improvements and court docket matters including noteworthy divorce and support changes.

Military Funeral for Ekin Soldier Clyde Clark
Last honors were paid Sunday to Clyde Clark the Ekin boy killed early in World War I. His body returned from overseas and was interred at Spencer cemetery beside his father. The service in Ekin M E Church included Tipton and Sheridan legion posts and firing squads. The crowd was large and the funeral marked the township’s first strictly military World War I ceremony.

Funeral of G. B. Jones Held in Bakers Corner
The funeral for Charley B. Jones who died in Los Angeles last week was held at the Wesleyan church in Bakers Corner at 10 30 in the morning. The body arrived in Sheridan Monday and lay at the Jones home. Mrs. Jones accompanied the casket home. They were met in Chicago by Mr. and Mrs. Walter Applegate and W. J. Eberwein. Mr. Jones was 60 and had suffered declining health for years.

Arbor day program scheduled for Friday April 15 1921 at 2 PM at Crown View entrance with closing of local businesses 2 to 4 PM to plant fifty Norway maples along the cement road to the cemetery Ex Judge Quincy A Meyers Indianapolis will give the keynote address. if rain services move to the Christian church. Numerous local officials churches and business leaders sign a closing pledge.

Series of High School Track Meets Kicks Off at Local Grounds
The first of several high school track meets is set for Friday afternoon at the high school grounds with Kirklin and Sheridan teams. The event starts at 2 o'clock. Next Friday the Big Three meet at Westfield features Noblesville Westfield and Sheridan. A county meet follows at Noblesville the next week. Sheridan is said to have strong chances in all meets. Also next Monday night the Christian church hosts the primary oratorical.

Divorce Granted in Tipton Court to Mrs Emmeline Bennett
Mrs Emmelinea Bennett of Sheridan was granted a divorce from John Bennett in Tipton Circuit Court after a short trial. She received $450 alimony and $100 toward attorney fees. The couple, formerly Mrs Hickman, married eight months ago and lived in Tipton County.

Sheridan man lands state house custodian post
Roy C. Couch of Sheridan was named to the state house custodian post by the building and grounds committee. The $2500 yearly four year job begins next Friday and oversees 30 to 40 janitors with a monthly payroll of 3000 to 3500 dollars. Couch recently sold his Sheridan grocery business and will relocate to Indianapolis.

Miss Edna Moore Leaves School for Newspaper Work

Red Men Open House Draws Large Attendance
A full house greeted the Red Men at a recent open house meeting. E. B. Neal of Noblesville missed due to illness and was replaced by G. W. Pinkheiser of Crawfordsville.
