The A R Association sets a $150000 war loan goal for Wichita County with post personnel ready to roll. The Sheppard Field Loan Stars premiere Wednesday at Theater No 3 features Lt Allen Johnston and a cast of service personnel in an 80 minute revue titled This Is It. A gala Wichita Falls showing follows Friday night November 24 at Memorial Auditorium with a Hollywood style opening planned.

Salvage Paper Drive at Sheppard Field Surges

Captain Winkeljohn reports Sheppard Field has collected over 180000 pounds of salvage paper since October 10, a 1000 percent increase. Three carloads monthly, about 60 tons, will be shipped. mixed paper fetches 19 a ton, newspapers 20, and cardboard 24.

Boxing and sports program to open at Wichita Falls Boys Club

A new athletic and recreation association will sponsor sports at the Wichita Falls Boys Club at Sixth and Broad. Monthly 25 cent memberships for service members allow entry for the subscriber and spouse to all activities, with civilians to be priced later. Two Monday boxing cards monthly and basketball events are planned, starting with a gala show on Monday Nov. 27. Col. Alfred L. Jewett heads the Board of Governors, joined by Majors Payne Elmgren Pooley and other post officers and CWO Benjamin Franklin as secretary.
