Sloan family ties mark new St Louis posting
Technical Training Command announces the rise from Assistant Chief of Staff to a new assignment effective February 1 in St Louis. Colonel Sloan, formerly of Atlanta, Georgia, wed Eleanor Wilcox of Madison, Connecticut. They have two children, William Marshall aged 10 and Richard Pratt aged 8.

Squadron Volunteers Give Red Cross 118 Dollar Donation
Members of the squadron donated 118.95 to the national Red Cross through cooperation with Special Services. The funds were presented by 1st Lt. Ben A. Van Horn to Field Director J. B. Green Jr. Capt. Lloyd W. Gwinn leads the squadron. 37 enlisted men toured Henrietta to visit a boot factory while 42 attended a Sandy Beach swimming party. Red Cross prizes funded bingo events and a separate 9.33 gift was sent from hospital personnel led by Pvt. Fred Johnson.

Lt Col Quirk Departures From Sheppard To Fort Leavenworth
Lt Col John W. Quirk former commanding officer of Squadrons A and I and later prison officer has left Sheppard Field for Ft. Leavenworth separation center and then home to Kansas City Missouri. A Hire native he joined the Kansas City Police Department before joining the service in June 1942 and served 21 months in England France and Germany with the Third Military Government Regiment. He was eight months regional public safety officer of Bavaria with headquarters in Munich.
