Inauguration of shoe rationing under War Department rules
With the Feb 7 start of shoe rationing, Army purchases will follow War Department Circular No 46. Officers and enlisted men may buy shoes with a hoe stamp or purchase certificate, or use War Ration Book No 1. Those without a certificate may obtain one from squadron commanders. Post exchanges may sell shoes as civilian stores, requiring a stamp or certificate. OPA Form R-306 will be issued by squadrons, but may be delayed by two weeks.

AAFTTC Plan Drafts AMs For Gunnery School
AAFTTC will require aviation mechanic students and trainees in radio armament photography and other technical courses at Sheppard Field to attend gunnery school after completing training. Exams before graduation will determine eligibility and nonvoluntary enrollment. Graduates receive staff sergeant rank flight pay and a $144 monthly aerial engineer pay. The role of aerial gunners is highlighted amid wartime heroism and combat duty.

H. R. Knickerbocker, famed Chicago Sun foreign correspondent, will lecture March 4 at 8 15 p m in Wichita Falls Memorial auditorium on With the U S Armed Forces Around the World. He covered fronts in Australia the Pacific and North Africa. Half rate tickets for Sheppard Field soldiers are at Newlin's Office Supply.

Baby joins post staff and family in lighthearted note
A newborn girl, Julia Ellen Henson, weighs 6 pounds 14 ounces and is welcomed at the Station Hospital. She is the daughter of Post Sergeant Major M. Sgt. and Mrs. Henson. Maj. Duke Jr. notes she may join as a reserve CAF-1 when eligible in 18 years. Father Henson rests at home, mother and baby reported well.

War Department switches to Class B War Bond plan
The War Department says all Class A pay reservations for War Bonds end March 31 and a new Class B allotment plan begins April 1. Army personnel must re subscribe to Class B to continue bond pay. Lt. J. H. Stringer urges Sheppard Field personnel to sign up promptly to avoid delivery gaps.

Theatre No 3 Sets Sunday Matinees for Double Shows
Starting next Sunday February 28 Theatre No 3 will present a 2 30 pm matinee featuring the same pictures shown that night at the theatre. This schedule allows patrons attending the 1 15 matinee at Theatres 1 and 2 to also catch the Theatre No 3 performance.
