One hundred six Sheppard Field men were chosen by a special board to report Sunday to the Air Corps Officers Candidate School at Miami Beach Florida. Interviewing began Wednesday afternoon after orders from the Air Corps Technical Command. By noon Thursday about 150 applicants had been interviewed with more to come and the board expected to decide last night.

Soldier Turns Spud Grower Into Army Kitchen Duty
Private Humphrey L. Jones of the 317th Technical School Squadron grew 150 acres of potatoes at his North Dakota home last year. He dug sorted packed and shipped the crop but frostbite forced losses. Early this year he joined the army and was assigned to KP peeling potatoes finding his own harvest in the sacks. He pleaded for no more spuds.

Weaver Takes Command of Air Corps Technical Training
Maj. Gen. Walter R. Weaver, acting Air Corps chief, assumes control of the Air Corps Technical Training Command at Tulsa Oklahoma. He succeeds Maj. Gen. Rush B.
