Red Cross War Fund Drive Gets $10513.44 Donation

At Sheppard Field Capt G M Hubbard Jr turned over 10513 44 to Donn Daily director of the Wichita Falls Red Cross as the March war fund drive opening gift. The check, presented in Col Claget s office, represents voluntary contributions from military personnel and enlisted men. Funds were distributed to the Wichita Falls chapter to boost its war fund and support Red Cross efforts. Daily praised the substantial donation and faith in the Red Cross by the service members.

Plant experts aid local instructors at Sheppard Field

Instructors at the Sheppard Field Technical Training School received assistance from field representatives of North American Aviation and Wright Aero nautical Corporation. C. E. Patterson of North American B-25 work and John DeJonge of Wright engines led lectures and demonstrations on plane construction and motors. A mobile Air Service Command training unit also visited, featuring a large trailer with updated training devices.

Dance For Casuals Only At Hanging No. 1

A February 26 event for casuals only will run Friday night in Hanging No. 1. Over 1,000 girls from Wichita Falls and nearby towns will be provided as dancing partners for trainee soldiers by the Sheppardette Club of the Lamar Use. The 24th Air Forces Band will provide music and several specialty acts are planned as details are released to squadrons.

Mess Hall Suggestion on Keeping Silverware from Pockets

Initially planned sugar stamp 17 shoe sales at Sheppard air base stores were blocked by a higher authority order. Purchases now require processing through the Post Adjutant's office, with sales to resume only after new procedures are announced.
