Army Air Forces General Arnold announced a new aviation cadet procurement program through the Army. Enlisted men only may apply, with age 13 to 26, 20-20 vision, 100 general test, single or married, no back education. Successful candidates will enter flying training command in weeks.
Shoe rationing affects Sheppard Field personnel as post exchange sales fall under the Eighth Service Command order. Those with ration cards may buy shoes with sugar ration stamp No 17. Non cardholders must present a OPA sugar replacement form R-306 certified by an officer. An appointed rationing officer will inform all personnel without ration cards of purchase procedures.
