Suntans Mandatory Starting Wednesday
Beginning May 1 the wearing of khaki suntans is mandatory while on post at head quarters. The necktie must be worn after 6 p m. In April uniforms are optional but ties remain mandatory at all times. Efforts to plant lawns at Sheppard Field continue and newly seeded plots must be protected to prevent damage from shortcuts.

Easter Dawn Services Draw Huge Attendance at Eiald Base

Telephone Prank Tangles Windsor Officer on International Line
Windsor CT police officer William Kennedy dialed Hartford after dropping a nickel into a telephone. A prank call connected him to San Francisco and then Alaska Argentina Honduras Scotland and Guadalcanal. The caller claimed to be a Bell engineer testing radar. Kennedy learned it was a joke about an international party line.

Legislation Advances Sliding Pay Scale for Armed Forces
