A Palmerton ad urges readers to judge a local grocer by visiting Harper’s Perry where Sugar, Syrups, and Molasses are discounted to 12 1/2 cents and New Orleans Molasses and French White Wine Vinegar are highlighted. The seller, J. M. Degauline, offers cash or country produce and promises credit from hand to pocket for good customers. The notice dates February 12, 1870.
