Gilbert to design West Virginia Capitol in Charleston
New York architect Cass Gilbert, famed for the Woolworth Building, will draw plans and supervise specifications for West Virginia’s new State capitol and office building. Secretary of State Houston G. Young announced after a Capitol Building Commission session with Governor Morgan. The project, estimated at 7 million dollars, will consider several Charleston sites and reflect careful choice of architect and layout.
