New Electric Power In Use In Maryland and Nearby States
Electricity from the Millville plant was switched to a new high power aluminum transmission line linking Millville to the Hagerstown and Frederick Railway wires at Jefferson and Frederick Maryland. The big steam unit at Millville and the new connection with the Power Company should greatly improve electric service in Maryland Virginia and West Virginia. A quarter of a million dollars was spent to acquire Northern Virginia Power Company by the Hagerstown and Frederick Railway interests. With the Millville steam plant and Dam No 4 and 5 water works and the Martinsburg steam unit the system should face no serious service gaps.
