Voice of a Nation Literary Fragment and Capitol Debate
A long, mixed text mixes a public speech by George Alfred Townsend on Washington and the location of the capital with reminiscences of the War era, notes on Virginia Maryland federal planning, and a card of moral exhortations. The piece includes Virginia figures, Washington history, and a folk tale about dogs, plus a hymn-book anecdote.
