In Shepherdstown WV on April 1 1872 municipal affairs featured a large voter turnout endorsing a $8000 Shenandoah Valley Railroad subscription. The town elected ten councilmen with Mayor John B Ray and Recorder J P A Entler, plus a new council that included multiple familiar names.
