Fatal Motorcycle Accident Claims Ernst Horn on Fifth Avenue

Ernst Horn, a longtime motorist and rider since 1911, died after a motorcycle crash on East Fifth Avenue at about 5 45 PM Sunday. His cycle stopped suddenly, ejecting him onto the ground and causing a fractured skull and neck despite rapid City Hospital care. He died at home about 7 30 PM, survived by his parents E F Horn and two sisters.

Four Months Jail for Wilson Schoolhouse Arson

James Stevens, 70, sentenced by Justice Trester in Manitowoc county to four months in jail or a $75 fine after pleading guilty to arson in a Wilson District No. 2 school incident on May 5. He admitted entering the Centerville and Millersville schools and burning books, with other items stolen and later found on him. The case included testimonies from teacher Miss Alma Agentum and school board members. Stevens claimed another man burned the books while he was in Egypt.

Two ten gallon cans of gasoline on a Wadhams Oil Co wagon ignited at 2 45 pm at Seventh street and Wisconsin avenue. The driver removed the cans, the fire department responded, and gasoline oil leaked as flames shot high. A gasoline lighter found at the scene likely explains the fire origin. The lighter was taken to the office.
