At National Hall last evening Mayor Dieckmann City Attorney Detling and Col C A Born faced a packed crowd. The meeting exposed proof that Born had not paid $20 a year for water and highlighted the fight to purchase the water works. Detling recalled past city actions and criticized past officials as Dieckmann urged unity to support honest administration and rate relief.
The letter denounces Attorney Edward Voigt for false charges against Alderman Ernest Krueger over a boiler sale claim. It asserts Krueger only discussed moving a boiler at the Water Works to save money and that Krueger never offered a secondhand boiler for sale. Records from the Water Works Department indicate C. A. Born paid $20 annually for water in 1901 to 1904, then $40 from April 1904 to October 1, 1907, and $100 from October 1, 1907 to March 1, 1909. Earlier years are not documented, but $20 in 1901 suggests similar charges in earlier periods.
A human skull was found by schoolboys in the Sixth Ward dumping grounds of Sheboygan. The skull is adult size with a damaged jaw and signs of heavy blunt force.
