The Judiciary Committee reported it secured the late registry and primary returns to ensure voters remained on the petition for a vote on water commissioners. Ice and river overflows left debris and large ice cakes, deterring funding for macadam or concrete work. Interest shifts to the middle road from New Jersey Avenue toward the Country Club as next focus.
Adrianople dispatch reports Shukri Pasha vows to keep fortress defense after five months. Offered surrender rumors are false. only famine could force surrender, and food is plentiful.
