Sheboygan Mortgage and Security Company Formed

The company organized at Sheboygan with articles filed in Madison. Incorporators are Charles Weaver Wiwaukee SH Smiley Sheboygan Falls and R J Rosenfeld Portage. Capital $100000 with all ten shares subscribed. Business to begin within a month, by July 15 at latest. Rosenfeld, a Plymouth native and securities expert, holds bank connections and is vice president of Portage Mortgage, a Loan and Trust firm. Smiley, a leading Sheboygan Falls resident, has long resided in Beloit before moving to the village. Much capital subscribed by Wisconsin residents and influential citizens from Sheboygan.

Injury at Fox River Paper mill prompts jump fall

In Ableton Wisconsin on June 26 an Emerson employee, reacting to a girl strike, jumped from the mill's second story stair to the pavement injuring a leg. The accident disrupted operations at Fox River Paper Co and prompted a medical response.

Saloon Licensing Rules Outlined by Attorney General

Madison Wis June 26 Attorney General W C Owen proposes guidance on saloon licenses amid July 1 1907 population ratios. Provisions cover continued licensing at existing locations transfer rights upon rent loss owner use or sale of premises and conditions for license eligibility when saloons exceed the per population limit including for abandoned or transferred premises.

Wisconsin Senate Sets July 8 Recess Amid Talks

Madison June 26 reports tentatively agree that when the senate adjourns this week it will reconvene Tuesday July 8 with informal daily sessions. A field day on water power control bills is planned for early July. Also the Teasdale Brewery Divorce Bill banning single entities from holding multiple liquor licenses was killed in the senate.

Harvey K Greggory, manager of the Chicago circulation bureau, was killed when his car skidded and struck a bridge railing. Passenger Miss Minnie Bristol drowning initially reported, with Charles Summers, Miss Myrtle Peters surviving. Greggory's wife and three children were found at home. Bristol later confirmed dead, others escaped with minor injuries.

Military troop movement to Camp Douglas July fifth

Prize Winners Named in City Missing Word Contest

The Press announces prize winners from a three month missing word contest. Dorothy Bowler wins first prize of 20 dollars trade, Helen Baldewein second prize 10 dollars, and E A Machut third prize five dollars. Several seven to six correct answers receive one dollar or seventy five cents in trade, with ties allocated per rules.

Springfield June 26 AP reports Governor Dunn signed the women's suffrage bill, triggering immediate demonstrations. Moving pictures captured the signing and the pen was split into three parts given to supporters. Opponents threaten to test the law's constitutionality. the bill takes effect July 1. Illinois becomes the first state east of the Mississippi to grant women the ballot.

Cyclone Destroys Kasota Buildings in Minnesota

A cyclone struck Kasota Minnesota seventy five miles southwest of Minneapolis causing a grain elevator to collapse and several smaller buildings to be demolished. Telegraph and telephone wires are down and further information is being gathered by Omaha railroad station officials.

Storm Sweeps Nebraska Causes Heavy Damage

A fierce rain and wind storm swept central Nebraska last night, moving toward Kenesawa about a hundred miles west of Lincoln. Several farm buildings were destroyed but no lives were reported lost. Estimated damage stands at $100,000.

Eight Die in Pacific Railway Camp Explosion

Kingston Ontario June 26 eight men were killed today in an explosion of dynamite at the construction camp of the Pacific railway. Authorities reported five injured and said the blast occurred during blasting operations at the work site, two miles from Kingston. Fire and rescue crews responded quickly as investigators began determining the cause of the blast and securing the area.
