Washington June 17 by a vote of 10 to 4 the committee to which it was referred adopted the motion of Senator Type Democrat of Missouri repeal the war time prohibition of beer and light wines joining him were Representative Gordon Democrat of Wisconsin and C Classon Republican of Wisconsin
Alvin Karl, a fireman for the Chicago & Northwestern Railway Co., residing at 1312 N Fifteenth St, was injured last Saturday when a torpedo placed on the switch track exploded under an engine. He was taken to St Nicholas hospital for X rays before being sent home to rest.
President Wilson hopes to depart Paris on June 24 or 25 if Germany signs the peace treaty and will address Congress on arrival in Washington. He plans a three week speaking tour to explain the peace treaty and the league covenant, visiting major cities with audiences likely to oppose the league plan.
The second day of the Pythian Sisters annual convention drew many delegates to Sheboygan with visitors from outside cities. Miss Anna Jacobs of Sheboygan gave the welcome, followed by Adella Christopherson of Waipara, as delegates toured by auto to Kohler and the American club.

Military intelligence and Ottawa planned the operation, aided by a new deportation act targeting aliens and agitators.
In El Paso on June 17 fear grew that Villistas might wage a campaign against U S citizens in Chihuahua after defeat by the American expedition. Americans with Chihuahua interests debated recalling personnel and shutting operations as 3,000 U S soldiers rested at Fort Bliss after dispersing Villistas with casualties. Gen Erwin denied aiding Carranzistas, stating the punitive action aimed to punish Villistas for crossing into U S soil and firing on Americans.
