The assembly approved a plan enabling state ownership and operation of utilities by a 71 to 19 vote, part of the Reis-Progressive utility program. International Falls Minnesota. County attorney David Hurlburt announced plans to urge Washington to suspend border customs agent Emmett J White, jailed on a manslaughter charge in the death of Henry Virkula. Schafer La Guardia and Clancy condemned the killing.
Federal agents raided the Park Hotel pharmacy in Madison seizing alcohol and gin and a card index listing prominent Madison men marked as OK for liquor sales. Proprietor Andrew B. Helstrom and clerks William K. Mills and Allan G. Meenk were arrested and released on $1,060 bonds each after arraignment on liquor law violations before U. S. Court Commissioner Chauncey E. Blake.
Madison Wisconsin. A move to withdraw the dollar fishing license bill for all resident fishermen failed in the assembly. Frank Prescott Milwaukee introduced the recall resolution to amend the bill to exempt Lake Michigan fisheries. Suspension of rules was refused. vote 54 against, 34 for.
Wisconsin Eagles converge on Sheboygan for the annual Fraternal Order of Eagles convention. Delegates arrive to register and be assigned to hotels as city decorates in national colors. Tonight includes greetings by Mayor Schuelke and state president, with a symphony concert, band serenade, buffet, and dance. Tours and luncheon planned for tomorrow near Kohler.
Art Goebel, famed for the 1927 Dole flight to Hawaii, visits Sheboygan with Colonel Conrad H. Mann for the Fraternal Order of Eagles state convention. Their Stinson Detroiter arrived at Kohler airport at 12 30 p m after a six hour flight from Kansas City with a refuel stop at Moline. Bruce Matheson co-piloted, plane powered by a 220 hp Wright Whirlwind engine. A large Eagles committee and local dignitaries welcomed them at the Kohler port.

Poland chief counsel of the New York Anti Saloon League sent a letter to President Hoover urging official rebuke of Wisconsin Republicans who protested federal officers during the Ripon celebration. He cites open violation of prohibition law and asserts the protest is impudent and culpable compared with the initial breach.
Jerbon Cance eighteen of Sevastopol Michigan and Ames Berne twenty one of Escanaba Michigan drowned Monday night when their small outboard boat capsized in the passage between Rock Island and Washington Island at the Door Peninsula. Companions Mike Mahaney and Howard Nathe were rescued as Plum Island coast guards searched all day for the bodies amid strong currents.
Reports from outlying districts describe a storm that hit shortly after 1 PM Tuesday. Orchards suffered severe damage and shade trees were blown down in rural areas, with Mitchell and Scott towns hit hardest. A small hail fall caused no further crop loss.

Two elderly city residents were injured when a Ford car left County Trunk A a mile east of Franklin and overturned on the highway. Mrs Hulda Margenau 62 suffered a severe fracture of the upper left arm and shoulder while Jacob Sackson sustained bruises to the right knee and back. Both expected to recover. others in the car, Clark Sackson and Herman Speckmann, were uninjured. They were taken to St Nicholas hospital by a passing motorist.
