Farmers should organize against cheese factory push

Rosenthal Purchases 604 N Eighth Street Building

Fred Rosenthal Sr buys the two story brick building at 604 N Third Street now used by George Schoerger at 504 N Eighth Street. He plans remodeling starting July 1 to create a modern cafe with elaborate fixtures and a first class saloon, in a 20 by 110 foot space.

Fireworks blast wrecks Deerfield flour mill injures four

Five tons of fireworks exploded at Deerfield Ohio damaging two churches and many homes. Four people were injured, two seriously, as the blast wrecked a flour mill and surrounding property. Estimated loss reaches forty thousand dollars.

Local High School Graduation Peak with Seventy Graduates

On Tuesday June 24 the Class Day exercises will be held at the opera house with a follow up on June 25. Arno Hoppert is valedictorian. Lake Breeze out June 25 promises to eclipse all prior efforts. Miss Lucile M. Rice directs the class play. Sunday June 22 features the Bac Jalaureate sermon by Rev. Thomas. Four dead and two injured with five missing after boiler on the steam barge E. M. Peck explodes at Pugh docks Racine harbor. The stern blown away and a fire threatens total destruction as police fire crews and Life Saving teams search for missing crew members. Crowds gather while photographers document the scene.

Son of W. D. Connor Killed in Wisconsin Crash

Fremont Wisconsin June 11 Donald Connor 21 oldest son of former Lieutenant Governor William D. Connor of Marshfield a UW Madison Ripon graduate was killed and Miss Nora Braun 20 of Oshkosh was fatally injured in a spectacular auto accident near Fremont. The new six cylinder roadster left the road flipped twice and landed on its side Connor was crushed and died after saying I am praying to God to help me. The injured Nora Braun was hospitalized with likely fatal injuries including broken ribs a spinal injury and internal damage. Connor arrived Milwaukee earlier with his father and witnesses described the car’s high speed and dramatic flip as bystanders rushed to aid them.
