The crash occurred as both cars neared an intersection, leaving both drivers unable to reach safety. The Ford suffered severe damage to one side and the Chrysler sustained front-end damage.

Jacob Napotnick of 1010 Wisconsin Avenue suffered severe body bruises after stepping into the street and was struck by an automobile driven by Richard Barrett of 222 Michigan Avenue. Barrett said the boy appeared from between two parked cars and he could not avoid the collision. Napotnick was taken to the Sheboygan Clinic.
