Fond du Lac Man Killed in Auto Crash Near Detour Sign
Gilbert Sommerfield, 19, of Fond du Lac, died after a car plowed through a detour sign, ran onto Interurban tracks, plunged down a seven foot embankment, and wrecked in a field two miles west of Algogan Falls on Highway 23. Lars Jorgenson of Fond du Lac survived with injuries. two female passengers Virginia Wightman and Marguerite Schumacher, also of Fond du Lac, were hurt. Witnesses described a chaotic scene as bystanders aided victims and police prepared reports at Plymouth and Sheboygan area hospitals.

Dr R J Phelan a Jeyyll Hyde figure charged with manslaughter in Mrs Lucille Barry's death last week leapt from a fifth floor window at a downtown Minneapolis hotel and died instantly. He had been arrested under the name W T Stevens after running two offices aiding the elite and the unfortunate. Paul J Cox, a former bellhop, held as an accomplice, was refused $10 000 bond.

Great Commoner Bryan Dies Suddenly in Tennessee Camp
United Press reports William Jennings Bryan died at 3 40 p m in Dayton Tennessee of apoplexy and cerebral hemorrhage. He had spoken in Winchester and Jasper after a day of acclaim and his body lay in state at Richard Rogers home before Arlington burial. Mrs Bryan declined a special train, a Legion guard to escort the body will accompany on the car. Funeral service in Washington expected Friday with simple arrangements in Dayton.

Scott to face jury Monday on insanity pleas
