Carry Family From Blazing Home Sunday
A fire at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grunow at 1620 Tiron avenue caused $500 in damage to the building and contents. Mrs. Grunow fainted and was treated by a physician after firefighters carried some family members from their beds. A second incident at 902 N. Highth street involved a fire in the basement from an overheated stove pipe with no loss reported. A grass fire along the railroad tracks near S Seventeenth Street between Indiana and Timois avenue was put out by the fire department.

Driver Held After Manitowoc Accident
Manitowoc Wisconsin Walter Crewinski 45 railroad worker in critical condition after being struck by a car driven by Edmund Nenetz also of Manitowoc as he crossed a highway near the Northwestern railroad tracks. In Niles Michigan the body of 42 year old Mrs. Philip Plovie was discovered buried beneath twenty inches of soil in the back yard of her home. Police say her head and one arm were severed and ashes piled over the grave.
