Ann Mary Eckmann, daughter of Cara Bowen Shepard, filed an answer to her husband Joseph Eckmanns divorce petition on Wednesday. She says he contributed only 250 toward her support since marriage, claims cruelty and slapping on several occasions, and accuses him of disrespect toward her mother and critical remarks about her appearance. She seeks denial of his petition and a divorce with alimony.

Cleveland Feb. 20 Wick ersham accuses the McCaskey Cash Register Company of violating anti-trust law by fraudulently suppressing competitors. The case centers on alleged restraint of trade and business practices impacting other firms in the industry.
Police Capt. Fred Martens who faced grafting accusations from gambler James Purcell died of natural causes in New York. Purcell remains jailed on charges of murdering his daughter.
Harrisburg Feb 20 seven children ages one to twelve died in a house fire that destroyed the home of George Smith. The parents were away and the doors locked when the blaze broke out. Authorities report unknown origin and the parents returned to find charred remains.
Springfield February 20 Evelyn Arthur Lee known as apostle of absolute life must serve one to five years per supreme court decision. He is charged with abducting Mildred Bridges with intent to entice.
Mrs N P Peterson of 501 N Sixth Street sprained four fingers on her left hand in a peculiarly as the dirt fell from a newly open cellar. While Mr Peterson worked and Mrs Peterson held a candle, the dirt collapsed, throwing all fingers out of joint at the knuckles. The injury is painful and will limit hand use for some time.
The Music Club of Sheboygan invites the public to enjoy one of its most successful Prima Donnas Madame Caroline White with pianist Mrs. Rider in a city concert. The club notes the high costs and past efforts to bring premier musicians and hopes for continued patronage.
Chief Henry Dehre named Anton Herman to the police department after passing medical and mental exams with high marks. He will begin duties tomorrow night. A well known local, he lives at 409 North Seventh Street, once ran a saloon on Pennsylvania Avenue, and is married about a year and a half. He belongs to Company C.

Lieutenant Governor O'Neil stopped Rev. E R Henry during a prayer asking to end liquor traffic. He shouted to end the political speech, banged his gavel, and ordered the Journal read as the minister left the room.
New Jersey on February 20 quotes Woodrow Wilson affirming seven antitrust laws. He states that honest business and honest men have nothing to fear and predicts a new era of prosperity under these laws.
The Sheboygan Railway and Electric Company used water bypassing the meter to feed a turbine and air pump for cooling. The meter by pass was discovered when the meter was being read after water around the meter was cleared. The minimum charge of $2 was paid. officials dispute mayoral comments and blame billing failures on the city water works. Ernest Gonzenbach, President of Sheboygan Railway and Electric Company, accuses Mayor Dieckmann of personal motives.
At 3 48 this afternoon Goodrich Transit Co of Chicago officials arrived in the city and met with President Pfister and Business Men’s Association members. They toured new offices, attended a reception at the Elks club, and discussed harbor work tied to $337 000 in federal funds and $25 000 to $35 600 next year for docks. Attending from away were A W Goodrich, H W Thorpe, D M Cochrane, C B Hopper, W P O Connor, J A Brown.
The Goodrich Transit Company completed new offices measuring 42 by 26 feet finished in ash. Burlap above the wainscoting adds a pretty effect, with a fireproof vault 9 by 12, a watchman's room, and a private office for the general agent. Modern furnishings ensure employee comfort including a drinking fountain. General Sullivan is pleased with the new quarters.
The common council, meeting as a committee of the whole, inspected plans for the new city hall and virtually approved the committee's selection. A cut appeared in The Press, Tuesday evening, and tonight the council will meet again to consider further matters and possibly order detailed plans.
Suigarians and Turks prepare for a major engagement at Bulair with 100000 and 70000 forces. The epic is said to be 3500 in scale as Enver Bey leads the Turkish side in this historic confrontation.
