Kohler Sons officer testifies in Bath Tub Trust case
Walter J. Kohler of J. M. Kohler Sons Co testified in Detroit on Friday for the government in the Bath Tub Trust case. The charge is restraint of trade and Sherman Act violation. Trial is before Judge Sessions in Grand Rapids. Oscar Kroos, of the same city, identified with Kohler and was in Detroit last week, returning to spend Sunday here and likely to testify later this week.

Extra Sexton Dies in West
A telegram to Mrs. Jacob Diehl in Glen Beulah announced the death of Barton Sexton, 55, son of John L. Sexton murdered near Elkheart in 1911. Born in the county, he lived on the old homestead before moving to Huron, South Dakota. His sister noted no prior illness. He was well regarded by neighbors and friends.

Captain Robert Scott and his party perished in a blizzard on the return from the South Pole reached January 18, 1912. The expedition of 28 officers and scientists plus 23 Royal Navy sailors faced immense ice, noting the ice sheet afloat with about 600 feet of water beneath. Man held on serious charge in Green Bay case
Anton Zywick aged 47 is in county jail awaiting examination on a statutory offense in Green Bay. A 16 year old girl is involved, with allegations she was 14 at the time of initial offense. A baby was taken to Green Bay and a birth filing later appeared. Humane Agent Hoehne aided in the investigation as the DA and Chief Dehne gathered enough evidence to arrest Zywick after a delayed disclosure. The Press withholds the girl’s name. The family tried to hush the matter to protect reputations. He could not post $1000 bond.

Public library draws most books in a day since new opening
Last Saturday the library circulated 517 books, the highest in a day since the new library opened, with 261 for children and 156 for adults.
Goodrich Transit Co Plans $25000 Harbor Improvements
Officers of the Goodrich Transit Co. of Chicago announce a $25,000 spring and summer program to improve their docks and grounds in Odrich. The plan follows a near doubling of the freight house size and a new office building. The dock will be rebuilt along the river toward government life saving station property, plus urging fishermen to modernize sheds and appearances.
