Madison Wis Special The legislative investigation of Qatar Schrader a Sheboygan inmate at the Northern Hospital for the Insane in Oshkosh is tentatively set to begin Monday afternoon Feb 12 a prison labor committee member said. Plans to begin the probe next Tuesday were abandoned to allow Winnebago county authorities to finish and act on their coroner s jury inquest. Several legislators wanted to spend next week at home to tend to private business neglected because of their attendance at the special session here. The emergency board will meet.

The decision notes the defendants could convey good title upon payment and that plaintiffs failed to meet installment obligations, with court orders preventing further action.
Madison Wis The eighteenth special session of the state legislature dissolved at noon with sine die adjournment. In a brief 10 am meeting the two houses waited for 12 to cast final votes. An attempted move by Assemblyman Grover Ramstack to adopt a joint resolution on small loan interest failed. Ramstack was blocked by Ray Novotny and the senate had no business.
Boatmen's Guide reports Lake Michigan amid southerly to northwest winds and snow tonight and possibly Sunday. An advisory storm warning remains in effect for the lake.
Oshkosh staff at the Northern Hospital for the Insane have yet to explain to a coroner’s jury how Oscar Schrader of Sheboygan sustained fatal injuries a week ago. Testimony shows no one admits mistreatment, while attendants and employees recall a forceful episode when Schrader tried to flee. Dr. McElligott and others testified as an inquest continues into the cause of death and possible restraint injuries.
Racine officials defending their extradition bid for the Dillinger gang from Arizona faced sharp criticism by Indiana attorney Ven Lutz who called it unwarranted. Wisconsin officials argued they acted to return the gang to Racine on bank robbery charges, while others alleged bribery and corruption in custody efforts before Indiana and Ohio authorities.
