Prominent Sheboygan Lawyer Fred Vollrath Dies at 84
Fred Vollrath, 84, oldest member of the Sheboygan bar, died Monday after a weeklong illness. Born in Germany September 23 1842, he emigrated to America, served in the Union Army near Vicksburg under General Grant and saw Lincoln. He practiced law in Milwaukee, Huron South Dakota, then settled in Sheboygan in 1894. He was district attorney 1896 to 1898 and remained active in law until last year. He is survived by two daughters, four grandchildren, a brother Fernect Vollrath in St. Louis, and his wife Hattie Barth.
