Intermittent firing is reported northwest and south of Peking as the capital’s rail line from Peking to Tien Wein is suspended. Cable reports say Peking is telegraphically isolated while British French and Japanese guards reinforce the railway near Tong Shan after its being broken in several places.
The Overton mine disaster leaves at least nine to ten times as many workers unaccounted with initial counts suggesting around 60 workers in the pit. About 19 believed to be white, with the rest reported as Black. five seriously injured and 15 believed to have escaped. Cause undetermined. mine described as a ganeous pit using electric lumps. Survivor Yarbrmigh recalls a deafening blast and chaotic rush as workers tried to flee while rescue efforts ensued.

Joe Sobora of Milwaukee escaped serious injuries after lewir Nurled threw the windshield of a truck struck broadside by a street car at the intersection of Maureenth Street and Georgia Avenue. Victim, motorman Victor Krause and truck driver Walter Kachelski were briefly dazed. Sobora was taken to St Nicholas hospital where doctors said no bones were broken though internal injuries possible. The crash occurred as the truck, carrying furniture from Wadham Furniture Co, attempted a turn on Georgia Avenue and collided with the street car, smashing the truck cab and badly damaging the front of the street car.

Terry Moran, labeled jovial crook, received a prison term after a trial over a November 20 1904 robbery at a South St. Paul depot. Moran helped steal a $50 000 money shipment. three men carried out the heist. He was arrested in Chisago, escaped in transit, recaptured in Denver, and confessed.
Walter Saar charged with larceny from the person received a six month sentence in the county jail in Plymouth court this morning. He is alleged to have been an accomplice of John Viccar in a recent robbery of Joseph Martin of Waldo. Saar is confined in his cell during incarceration and barred from mingling with other prisoners.
