Charles Hoppe a 26 year old Toledo chauffeur was executed at the state penitentiary for the murder of his seven year old cousin Dorothy Sczelagowski who was kidnapped assaulted and killed last May. Hoppe faced the electric chair without fear shortly after John Rucker a 7 year old Negro was executed for killing a Cincinnati policeman.

District Deputy Henry C. Baker of Racine will inspect Sheboygan Lodge No. 299 on Tuesday. The Appleton Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks band, forty five pieces, will arrive about 6 pm to perform at the initiation ceremonies and concerts. A parade at 7 45 pm will lead from the lodge to Michgan Avenue and Eighth Street. a cafeteria luncheon will follow. State officers are expected, with Chief Baker as guest of honor.
Herbert Reiser, 21, a Kenosha Knitting Company employee, was shot in the back as he walked home from the Allen A plant during the strike. He was treated at Kenosha Hospital for a non serious flesh wound. Witnesses describe a dark car fleeing the scene as police Chief John Sullivan orders a broad search. Reiser had not joined the strike nine months earlier.
York police said John Blymyer and John Curry, two of three arrestees in the Nelson D Rehmeyer murder, did not regret the slaying though they did not intend to kill him. Directors include R B Melvin Plymouth George Noh Sheboygan Falle Or B Frauenheim Random Lake and Frank Abbelohde Plymouth. Reports showed receipts and disbursements for the 1928 county fair with a $2205 loss due to bad weather. 1929 plans and premiums discussed.
Madison reports a dispute over the Wisconsin executive mansion on Gilman Street. Mrs. John Martin says renovation or a new building is needed while Clinton B. Ballard defends the mansion as in wonderful condition. Mrs. Fred R. Zimmerman notes the two years of remodelling under the outgoing governor.

Gordon Northcott was placed in the former Hickman cell in Los Angeles while Riverside and LA authorities quarrel over where to prosecute. Riverside DA Redwine claimed Northcott admitted killing the headless Mexican, saying the crime occurred on a Riverside farm. LA officials prepared for trial after Northcott arrived from Vancouver, BC and was arraigned on an unidentified boy's murder with a Dec. 5 plea date.
