Fires, trials and church anniversary in Wisconsin

In Medford Wisconsin Mrs John Kascielny pleaded guilty to setting the barn fire that killed three children and told authorities a plan to kill herself. Solemn Rites For Mrs Rietow Held This P M

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at 811 Niagara Avenue for Mrs Mathilda Rietow who died Monday morning. Rev Czamanske led the service using Psalm 23. A quartet sang Asleep in Jesus and Some Day We'll Understand. Interment followed in Widwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Milton Gutsch Lincoln Rietow William Rietow Otto Koch Fred Dohman Clarence Kassen. Attendees from out of town included Prof and Mrs Milton Gutsch Austin Texas Mr and Mrs Fred Dohman Milwaukee Mr and Mrs Henry Riesmeister Toledo Ohio and Mrs Fred Rentz and daughter Chicago.

Boat Picked Up Off Waukegan By Rescue Craft

A rowboat missing from Waukegan since August 17 was recovered by Pere Marquette No 18 in Lake Michigan. A stranger rented it at 5 o clock that date despite warnings not to leave harbor. He was last seen heading north about a half mile offshore, described as about 40 years old in a good suit with a straw hat and a Judge lapel pin.

Four Sheboygan Soldiers Return From France for Burial

Bodies of four Sheboygan men from World War I are at Hoboken docks awaiting transport home for interment. They arrived in New York Tuesday from France where they were disinterred from battlefield cemeteries. Names: Arthur Stanisch, Joseph Truler, Rudolph Van Handel, Paul Sass. American Legion and Company C, 127th Infantry, to conduct military rites. possible additional remains aboard. First arrival expected Saturday.

Von Beulow Dies. World War II German Field Marshal

Berlin reports Field Marshal General Von Beulow, former commander in chief of the German Second Army during the World War, died here after a ten day illness. The aging veteran served prominently in Germanys military command and saw action in major campaigns. His death marks the loss of a senior Wehrmacht officer with a long career in the service.

Classification and enrollment drive kicks off new school year

Thirteenth Day Case Is Dismissed On Prior Jeopardy

The court discharged Arthur Schwartz on a plea of prior jeopardy after dismissing the thirteen case against him and related defendants linked to the Severson act roundup. Schwartz was freed from custody as prosecutors dropped charges for liquor possession after his role as son of a saloonkeeper and worker at his father's bar.
