In dense fog on Highway 165 near Theresa Indiana a three car crash killed Harriet Ellen Johnson, three, of Perryville Indiana. Two other occupants were seriously injured as the lead car collided with oncoming traffic and the two following cars piled up. The Johnson family was en route to a fishing trip with relatives including Squire Shute and Homer Fox families.

Joseph Wilson alias Elijah Fischer, arrested in Chicago, held on a Sheboygan warrant for complicity in the Waldbauer saloon robbery and murder attempt. He was returned by Detective William Rothe. police seek witnesses at the station to identify him. Wilson says he will prove his whereabouts and denies guilt.
In Milwaukee area news, Herbert Breuchner owner of Black Hawk Riding Academy and attorney Hubert Lebre die in a fog shrouded crash near Madison. George Leyner and Ralph Pearson sustain head and bodily injuries after a high speed swerve into a fence and an apple tree.
Eugene Win gender lifeguard at North Side beach reports water at 75 degrees and air at 5 degrees.
A B Skinner 39, a New York anthropologist, was killed when his car stalled and overturned a mile from Tokio near Devils Lake North Dakota. Driver Amos Oneroad, Sioux Indian, was uninjured. Skinner collected Indian relics for the Seye Foundation and worked with the American Museum of History. He previously served as Milwaukee museum curator 1919 to 1924. His wife and parents survive in New Jersey and New ark.
United Press reports Thomas McAvoy, 47, surrendered to Philadelphia police and confessed to killing Florence Kane of Brooklyn. McAvoy, described as a cripple with both arms amputated, said he kicked the woman to death.
Elmer Teamer, a carpenter, suffered a fractured left leg and pelvis when an 18 foot scaffold collapsed at Allan Hammes 625 Superior Ave at 2 p m. Teamer was taken to St Nicholas hospital. Foreman Charles Weins and timer William Prussner were lightly injured. a fourth carpenter remained unnamed at press time.
Two men arrested were to be arraigned before a U S court commissioner as federal prohibition agents uncovered two spiked beer plants. One plant lay in downtown Milwaukee and the other was found nearby amid a surge of illicit real beer flowing into the area.
Eliwyn Pryant a 19 year old from Milwaukee Wisconsin confessed to stealing a Maxwell automobile after being identified by George Aldous as the man who robbed his father's store in Charles City. Pryant was arrested in a moving picture theater. George Merrifeld appeared to obtain the transfer slip for the car he bought for 300. The accused had a ticket to Manitowoc when taken into custody and the remaining 300 was found in a pocket.
The August meeting of the South and West Side Advancement Association will be held at the South West State Bank building at 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Arrangements for the annual picnic and a program of business will be announced.
