Whisky found in his car. Conviction could bring 1 to 8 years. Mrs Fander and Mr Luecke visit Wisconsin avenue home.
A major fire at the Atlantic Refining Company plant in Philadelphia rekindled after an oil tank exploded, triggering three alarms. The death toll rose to six with Eli Dell dying at St Agnes hospital, and expected losses exceed one million dollars.
Ralph Obenchain, husband of Madelyn Obenchain, announces he will direct the defense in the Kennedy murder case despite not being admitted to California bar. He hurried from Chicago to assemble top West Coast attorneys while aiding his former wife. Reverend A W Burch, father of Arthur C Burch, also arrives to assist in the defense amid a private, high profile legal fight.
Walter Grunow, 15, sentenced to the Industrial School at Waukesha for an indefinite term. Joseph Schwartz and William Traas, both 18, given two years in Green Bay Reformatory after pleading guilty to daytime burglary while armed with dangerous weapons. They halted from Sheboygan.
A Naval Reserve division of 40 to 60 men is planned for Sheboygan with an 8 p.m. meeting Thursday at the American Legion club rooms. Lt. Robert Smith will discuss retainer pay rating and local unit formation as 100 current reservists seek entry. The unit would receive cutters uniforms and pay from 1 to 7 dollars per drill and participate in a 15 day summer cruise on the USS Hawk with full pay.
Burlington Wisconsin Moore's Hotel at Browns Lake was raided Sunday night by Sheriff James and deputies. Ten people were arrested on gambling charges. Officers seized roulette wheels fare tables crap games chips and 400 dollars. Roy Moore charged as keeper and Mr Pumpher and Fr Brooks with operating a gambling game. Nine arrestees listed as residents of Chicago.
The second stage of ground preparation for the Integrity National Bank building moves the old Kraemer Building across the street from Grand hotel. The structure will be relocated to Center avenue then reerected after veterinary work ends. H C Heiden and Sons handles the move. the process spans several weeks while Paul Reisen Sons clears the site. Misses Myrtle Dexheimer, Vivian Dobson and Gertrude Lauecka depart for Green Lake for a week-long star event.
Ingar Olsen, U. S. life guard, saved C. H Dake of Eau Claire from a breaking wave about fifty feet from the breakwater. Dake called for a rope as his strength faded. Olsen swam out, brought him to shore, and Dake thanked him before returning home.
Mrs John Muth aged 68 died at 11 this morning at her home 1914 N Wighth street from a long illness. Born February 23 1853 in Rhine Sheboygan County she married in 1871 and lived on a Johnsonville farm before moving to Sheboygan. Survived by husband six daughters three sons nineteen grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral Wednesday at 2 pm from the residence with Rev W F Horstmeier of Zion Reform church officiating. Interment Wildwood cemetery. R H Kroos undertaker.
