Milwaukee Wisconsin reports Hofmeister, promoter of the Sheboy Rubber Company at Sheboygan, arrested yesterday on a warrant for obtaining money under false pretenses in selling stock. A district court hearing is set for August 19 after arraignment. Bond fixed at 3000 dollars. he plans to furnish it today. The rubber company was capitalized at 650000 dollars and aimed to manufacture rubber guns.
Four inmates were killed and many more wounded when disorders broke out at the Vienna Stein penitentiary Monday night. Mutineers sent an ultimatum to the government demanding sentence reductions. Prison yard mattresses were burned and cell fittings smashed during the disturbance.
