Company F Boys Reunite In Seventh Annual Gathering

Last evening marked the seventh annual reunion of Company F veterans. Six-service men gathered at the Community hall then marched to the porch bridge where waiting cars carried them to Balsam Row on the Wolf river. A salute paid tribute to original hiker veterans, some killed or died since the war. The June heat and uniforms did not dim the spirit of fellowship as Capt. L. A. Leadbetter led a hike along the Wolf river to a shady bank where two beer barrels awaited the tired veterans. The event, begun after the original postwar hike, has continued as an annual gathering for 15 years on the same date and route.
