Summer Tour of Mr. F. J. Watts Retired Ranch Operator
Mr. F. J. Watts of Shafter, recently retired from Richland Co op Gin, spent a summer touring western states. He rode 7,000 miles on a Honda motorcycle, visiting Rowings Wyoming to meet his son, touring Colorado and New Mexico with hailstorms in May, then Abernathy Texas reunions before returning to Shafter. His second leg went to Butte Montana with hail in Salt Lake City and rain in Idaho Falls, meeting old friends in Montana before Rock Springs and California return via Route 80 with his wife driving a car while he escorted on his Honda.

Hostesses Joyce Carroll and Shirley Fowler organized fuchsia pink and white decor while Frances Denney Reba Ebling Lillian Ebling and Jeanne Jarrett prepared foods. About eighty guests attended and a two layer cake with white doves and pink roses was served. The couple plan a wedding in Laguna Beach Irvine Cove Garden Sept. 12.
