Wheels-for-Life Bike-a-thon seeks riders and sponsors
Shafter residents are urged to join the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Wheels-for-Life Bike-a-thon on Saturday November 14 1981. Mike Kelley says the ride is dedicated to Terry a leukemia patient as riders enlist sponsors per mile and prizes await participants with top fundraisers earning shirts jackets and other awards. Waterfowl Seasons Set With Long Hunts in California
The new hunting schedule includes a 93 day waterfowl season with initial possession limits from last year. It covers geese in southern California to December 14 and parts of Stanislaus and Merced counties from November 23 to January 17. Duck season runs from December 17, 1981 to January 17, 1982.
